Cryptic letter mailed to Grant County PUD

EPHRATA — The FBI was notified about an odd letter that was mailed to the Grant County PUD and arrived on Tuesday.
PUD spokesman Ryan Holterhoff said the letter was mailed to the PUD’s offices in Ephrata and the cryptic statement on the envelope, one of which references the Wanapum Dam, gave PUD officials cause for concern.
Because of the odd statements, the PUD notified the Ephrata Police Department and officers responded and examined the document. The EPD contacted the FBI and the document was logged into evidence “for the time being,” as the FBI will be deciding if they want to further analyze the letter and investigate the case.
