School safety is paramount

| February 15, 2018 2:00 AM

Safety comes first. At the school board meeting last night, safety concerns brought up by the Chief of Police for Moses Lake were discussed. I want to thank Dr. Stones and Elliott Goodrich for their discussion that hopefully will lead to substantial improvements. I know that the community is frustrated with these two board members in particular over the construction bond, but it is important to recognize that they are doing the right thing by addressing safety. The board should use any funding source at its disposal to fix safety issues at the high school immediately. If the schools aren’t safe, they shouldn’t be open at all.
