Coulee City carbon monoxide victims identified

| February 15, 2018 2:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison identified the two people who died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this week as 68-year-old Roxy Mae Ergler and 72-year-old Kenneth W. Gomez.

“Their families have been notified. The conclusive cause of death results are pending the results of lab analysis, which may take several weeks,” the Grant County Sheriff’s Office explained in a prepared statement. “We offer our prayers for peace to the loved ones of the decedents.”

About 7 p.m. Monday night responders reported to the 500 block of West Walnut Street in Coulee City after a landlord reported finding two of his renters, Ergler and Gomez, dead inside of a residence.

Information suggests Ergler and Gomez died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning from either a propane appliance or a propane heater.
