Samaritan looking for new commission member
MOSES LAKE — Samaritan Healthcare board members will meet in executive session Friday morning to discuss qualifications for candidates to replace board member Julie Weisenberg, Weisenberg submitted her resignation Feb. 2. She has been hired as Samaritan’s chief human resources officer.
Samaritan had filled its open HR position, but the candidate couldn’t take the job, said chief executive officer Teresa Sullivan. After that was announced at the Jan. 30 commission meeting, Weisenberg expressed interest in the job. But she couldn’t remain as commissioner and apply for the job, Sullivan said.
Weisenberg was elected to her second term on the commission in 2017.
Sullivan said the hospital board members will review qualifications of some possible candidates at Friday’s meeting. Commissioners will not take any action, and the next public discussion of the position is scheduled for the Feb. 27 commission meeting, said Gretchen Youngren, Samaritan’s director of development and communications.
Applications will be accepted as well. A list of qualifications for the position will be posed on the Samaritan website by next week.
