Irrigation season opens mid-March

| February 8, 2018 2:00 AM

QUINCY — Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District officials will start filling the West Canal March 14. Priming on smaller canals and laterals will continue through for the rest of March through the first week in April, said irrigation district manager Darvin Foles.

That schedule depends on weather conditions and water orders, Foles said.

Farmers can order water beginning March 26, Foles said. Voicemail will be available at all watermaster offices. Water orders can be placed on Saturdays and up to 11:30 a.m. Sunday for Monday delivery.

Current schedules and information will be available to farmers at their respective watermaster offices after March 14, Foles said.
