From the Moses Lake Herald on Aug. 29, 1941:

Storm General in Eastern Wn.

Lind: A severe rain and hail storm over this section of Inland Empire Tuesday is reported from various districts.

Odessa: Rain here Tuesday of cloud burst proportions flooded the fields and streets with the ditches running full of water. A hard hail storm with hail stones matching hen’s eggs did some damage to uncut grain and fruit trees.

Harrington: Tuesday’s heavy rain storm will delay the harvest work north of town.

Ritzville: About 20 percent of the crop is still to be harvested and work has been delayed since last Tuesday because of the heavy rain Tuesday afternoon.

Coulee Dam: Tuesday forenoon a severe electric and rainstorm visited the dam area. Streets and basements were flooded and dirt and sand were washed into the government lawns in Engineer’s Town. In less than 20 minutes more .6 of an inch of rain fell.

Moses Lake: Very little rain fell at Moses Lake on Tuesday afternoon, but later in the evening it rained quite hard, accompanied by a slight electric storm.
