Moses Lake's excellent hockey team deserves support
Moses Lake’s age 12-and-under hockey club took second place in their tournament last weekend at Larson Ice Rink. They played extremely well against strong competition from teams from Portland, Tacoma and other places. Moses Lake lost in the Sunday final to a very good Portland team. They had beaten this team on Saturday by a score of 2 to 1. The play was very fast, with well-coached teams and excellent individual skill and knowledge by players this young. Moses Lake’s team was exceptional. Their individual ability, strong hustle and work-together style was effective and amazing. My compliments to the Moses Lake coaches and a very good team; you represent our city and the community very well.
One negative note: Although there was no charge, few local people attended the games on Saturday and Sunday. Hockey played at this high level, particularly by the Moses Lake team and by people so young, deserves more support from our community.
Having an outstanding public ice rink in Moses Lake has strong benefits; note our hockey teams and for both kids and adults during open skating days.
