1 injured in Moses Lake collision

MOSES LAKE — One person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on Monday that reportedly stemmed from a teenage driver failing to yield to another vehicle.
About 11:25 a.m. Marissa Garibay, 18, of Moses Lake, was stopped in Moses Lake on Baseline Road in a 2003 Ford Escape and turned north onto state Route 17. Garibay reportedly failed to yield to a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Richard Thomas, 73, of Othello, who was traveling south on SR-17. The Washington State Patrol reports the Escape was struck by the Trailblazer.
Garibay was injured in the collision but refused medical attention. Both vehicles sustained reportable damages and were towed from the scene. Garibay was cited for failure to yield, according to the patrol.
