Christmas morning fire damages Moses Lake home

MOSES LAKE — A Christmas morning fire caused smoke-related damages to a residence in Moses Lake.
Moses Lake firefighters say the fire was contained to the kitchen area of the West Texas Street residence, near Peninsula Elementary School, and did not spread to other parts of the home Tuesday morning. Smoke did spread throughout the home, but the family was able to get out safe and there were no reported injuries.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family with possible temporary housing until they can reenter the home. An exact cause for the fire has not been released.
