Glenn Hudlow Johnson

Glenn Hudlow Johnson died on Dec. 19, 2018 at the age of 92. He was born April 23, 1926 to Greeba Hudlow Johnson and Henry Clay Johnson in Kennewick, Wash. He spent his youth growing up in Pasco. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from April 1944 until June 1947. While in the Navy he served in Operation Crossroads in the Marshall Islands. Upon his return he met his first wife Joan C Burgess while driving school bus and they were married on June 18, 1949. They moved to Othello in 1959 where they raised their three kids. He was the parts/counter man and mechanic for Preston Tractor.

He enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing and fishing with his family and friends. He remarried in 1983 to Orpha Megenety and they spent many days on the road seeing the United States. He also enjoyed being in parades with the Shriners Clown Unit. In later years he enjoyed dancing at the senior center and you could find him dancing most Thursdays and Saturday nights.

He is survived by his three children: Ric (Betty) Johnson and Nanette (Randy) Kagele of Moses Lake and Jody (Andy) Nault of Yakima, Wash., seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by Joan C. Johnson in 1981, Orpha M. Johnson in 1993 and longtime friend Edith Hodson, parents Greeba Johnson Leaf and Henry Johnson; sister Anita Lunders and brother Aaron Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at Kayser’s Chapel. Private family graveside with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
