Social media today

| December 13, 2018 2:00 AM

Everyday a lot of students spend most of their time by using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest and a lot more. The survey found “More than three in four young people (78.8 percent) and more than half of all adults (54 percent) were highly involved with their mobile phones. Young people are reportedly using social media for an average of 3.3 hours each day, or five or more days of the week.” (The Daily Nebraskan)

So what are these kids doing in all those hours of screen time, watching videos or maybe playing video games? For many families, the amount of time their kids are spending on media, watching TV or playing games, listening to music or texting may not be a surprise. A lot of parents are trying to solve this problem, but it is difficult to enforce for teenagers, because young people are connected to each other through social media.

Social media changed our lives so much. Our lives became more convenient, because social media is a very useful tool for us, especially in the 21st century. These luxuries could help us to improve our lives; however, we have to be aware of how we may lose our privacy. If we could use social media smartly, having social media can be positive for us. Social media it is good for all of us if we know how to use it consciously, but it can turn against us if we take advantage.
