| December 13, 2018 2:00 AM

Longtime Moses Lake resident Ray Groff passed away on Dec. 1, 2018.

He was born in Oklahoma, with his family finally settling in Boise Valley, where he met and married the love of his life Agnes Phelps. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this past September. They raised two sons and one daughter here in Moses Lake.

Ray worked for United Concrete Company in Moses Lake, and was a major player in installing concrete pipe for the vast irrigation project in the Columbia Basin. The importance he placed on family was obvious to both his family members as well as his friends. He was well loved and respected by all, and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his seven brothers and one sister as well as his oldest son Larry Groff. He is survived by his wife Agnes Groff; daughter DeAnna Groff; son Robert Groff and his wife Connie; grandchildren Terra Wheeler (Brian), Trae Groff, Kara Fisher (Jerome), Heather Pearson, Christopher Groff and Tiffany Groff as well as 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.

Services will be held after the first of the year (Jan. 5). Arrangements are in care of Pioneer Memorial Services, Moses Lake.
