Gun control anarchy
There should be stricter laws regarding gun control in order to prevent murders and accidents from happening. Gun control is a major problem today in our society. Murder or suicide by guns is the No. 1 cause of deaths in the United States. Gun control laws should be more enacted. The United States has 120.5 guns per 100 people, or about 397,347,000 guns, which is the highest total per-capita number in the world. Twenty-two percent of Americans own one or more guns.
Although some believe that gun control laws infringe upon the rights of citizens to self-defense and a sense of safety, guns are still dangerous. People who do not have training or have never fired a gun before should not handle weapons before receiving proper training. According to the NRA, guns are used for self-defense 2.5 million times a year. Sixty-one percent of men and 56 percent of women surveyed by Pew Research said that stricter gun laws would make it more difficult for people to protect their homes and families. When high-capacity magazines were used in mass shootings, the death rate rose 63 percent and the injury rate rose 156 percent. (“Gun Control,” pro.com)
There needs to be an idea of how to stop all of this. Either stricter laws or no guns at all, but it would still be a problem. People will have a disagreement about both of them. But if the solution makes the death rates go down, then I am for it.
