Patricia Ann Scherting
October 12, 1929 – November 30, 2018
Patricia “Pat” Beth (Adams) Scherting, passed on Nov. 30, 2018, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 12, 1929, to Zealan and Charles Adams in Froid, Mont.
She was raised by her mother Zealan and a very special aunt Momma Doll; they referred to mom as “Miss Patricia.” During her childhood, she lived in Montana, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Mom graduated at the age of 17 and attended Kinman Business College in Spokane, Wash. She fondly says that’s where she met the man of her dreams. Mom and Dad were married in Glendive, Mont. in 1948. They were lifelong friends and loves.
Mom and Dad moved to Moses Lake, Wash. in 1955 and they purchased their first home and started their family with Tom, Nancy, Suzanne and Tony. Mom was fortunate to stay home and raise us children; Dad says her occupation was a “mother with household duties.”
In 1966 they bought the house of their dreams,– “the blue lakehouse.” Oh boy, did we build plenty of memories. Mom and Dad relocated to Wenatchee in 2002 to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Mom enjoyed their membership at Moses Lake County Club. She loved to entertain and have fancy dinner parties and would always set a beautiful table. She enjoyed her beloved game of bridge, both orthopedic and duplicate, and played up until Thanksgiving.
“Gold Nana” (as she was called by her grandkids) is a vibrant part of our families, leaving her children, grand and great-grandchildren and their spouses: Tom, Melody and Justin Scherting and Megan and Justin Smith; Nancy, Mike and Natalie Kokenge; Morgan, Sean, Vail and Burke Donnelly; Brock Kokenge and Pierre van Breda; Suzanne, Kevin and Courtney Reister; Jamie, Mike, Ben and Nate Huber and Kalie, Josh and Taylor Fish and Tony, Brenda, Lexus and TJ Scherting.
The family is so blessed that Mom was so well taken care of by the staff at Avamere, her friend and caretaker, Laurie McGee, Dr. Preissler and her staff, and Barb and the Hospice staff at Confluence.
Services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wenatchee.
