Day of Mourning to affect Sun Tribune delivery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump has named Wednesday, Dec. 5 a national day of mourning in honor of the late President George H. W. Bush, who passed away Friday night at the age of 94. As a result, all federal offices will be closed, including post offices, affecting mail delivery of the Sun Tribune.

Subscribers will receive their Wednesday paper on Thursday; the electronic edition will be published on the website at the normal time, and papers will also be on racks as usual at retail locations and vendor boxes throughout the community. The Sun Tribune’s web content, usually reserved for subscribers, will be free to all readers Wednesday as well.

A state funeral was held for Bush at the Washington National Cathedral at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Representatives from area banks have indicated that they will remain open, and county and city agencies should not be affected by the day of mourning. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington will be closed, and all District Court locations in the Eastern District of Washington will be closed to the public. The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will also be closed.
