Russell J. Rupe

Russell J. Rupe was born in Pocatello, Idaho. He moved to Othello, Wash. the same year in 1973 and started kindergarten here. Afterwards he lived in Nampa, Idaho, Boardman, Ore. and Rock Springs, Wyo. and moved back to Othello in 1983. He attended the Othello Schools as a young boy and teenager. He then moved to Astoria, Ore. to pursue a college education. He attended Clackamas Community College where his main studies involved Psychology and Criminal Justice.

He worked at McCain Foods, Lumberman’s, Genie Industries and Sprague Pest Control. He was also a counselor at Tongue Point Job Corps during his college years.

He is survived by his son Logan Russell Rupe, brothers Shane, Jeff and Jay-Jay and sisters Riikka Johnson and Christi Shibley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and by his parents John and Jayne Rupe.

He was preceded in death by his natural mother Julie Meeks.

Visitation and funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 with the visitation starting at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 1 p.m. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Chapel, Othello, Wash., (509) 488-3341.
