Wenatchee motorcyclist injured in I-90 crash near George
GEORGE — A motorcycle driver from Wenatchee was injured on Sunday after he was ejected off of his Harley on Interstate 90 near George.
About 12:55 p.m. Derek Love, 53, of East Wenatchee, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on I-90, about 10 miles west of George, when he reportedly struck a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Rebecca Simansky, 22, of University Place. Love reportedly overcorrected to the left shoulder and was ejected off of the Harley. The motorcycle came to a rest on the left shoulder, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Love was injured and airlifted to Confluence Health-Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment. Simansky was not injured. The Harley sustained reportable damages and was impounded, while the Jetta sustained non-reportable damages and was driven from the scene. The cause of the collision is pending and citations are pending the outcome of the patrol’s investigation. The left I-90 lane was blocked for about 45 minutes as crews cleared the scene and the collision was investigated.
