Leroy 'Roy' Marvell Lewis

Leroy “Roy” Marvell Lewis, 73, passed away Aug. 21, 2018 at his home in Moses Lake.

Roy was born Oct. 24, 1944 in Seattle to Andrew Marvell and Esther Rosina Payne Lewis. He lived in Enumclaw until family moved to Moses Lake in 1958. He lived in Moses Lake the remainder of his life with the exception of his time in the Army and a short time in California.

Roy attended Moses Lake Schools but enlisted in the Army in 1963 prior to graduation. During his time in the Army he served a one-year tour in Vietnam. He received his GED while in the Army. After discharge he attended college at Central Washington University.

Roy worked as a contractor throughout his working life. While he specialized in concrete he was knowledgeable in all areas of construction and took on other jobs such as building large dairy facilities.

An avid Seahawks fan from their inception Roy held season tickets for several years. He also closely followed the Sonics until they moved to Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his son George Lewis, his daughter Kellie Lewis, his granddaughter Katelynn Lewis all of Moses Lake and his brother Richard (Julita) of Pullman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger D. Lewis.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 15, 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens followed by a potluck and celebration of Roy’s life at 4 p.m. at the Hangout in Moses Lake.
