With voice networks still disabled into Tuesday evening, Inland Cellular is working around the clock on emergency measures to restore voice and text services to customers throughout Eastern Washington.

In a statement posted to the company’s Facebook page, Inland Cellular said that they are working to solve the outages on two fronts, trying to repair the voice “core” that manages voice services, and by allowing voice roaming over partner networks.

Outbound calling capabilities were successfully tested at about 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, according to a video posted by executive vice-president Chip Damato on Facebook. Voice and text services were functional by about 7:30 Tuesday evening.

The company is also considering how to compensate customers who have been experiencing inconveniences as a result of the outage.

The outages were caused early Saturday morning after a wildfire led to power surges that damaged the company’s infrastructure.
