Glenda Fae Jenkins

January 3, 1955 – July 25, 2018

Glenda (Richardson) Jenkins, 63, of Lind, Wash. passed away on the afternoon of July 25, 2018, at Sacred Heart Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Glenda is survived by her mother Shirley Richardson and sister Linda Radach of Moses Lake; brothers Bill (Judy) Richardson of Glendale, Ariz. and Duane (Renee) Richardson of Phoenix, Ariz.;  Five sons and their children Derek (Jessi), Wyatt and Kaitlyn Jenkins of Royal City, Aaron (Winter), Auston, Sydney, Ashton and Aidon Jenkins, Guy and Dillon Gariano of Moses Lake, Deron (Haley), Tyler, Kayla, Peyton, Colby and Caden Jenkins of Hope Mills, N.C., Jaron (Amy) Jenkins of Ellensburg, Jarek Jenkins of Lind and a chosen son Jerry (Eleda), Erien, Bella, and Rae Najera of Ritzville.

Glenda was born in Moses Lake to Elden and Shirley Richardson and was raised there, graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1973. She worked at Fidelity Bank after graduation until her first son was born in 1978. She met her husband Raymond in 1975 and was married on Nov. 13, 1976. The Jenkinses moved to George, Wash. where Raymond began farming and Glenda began raising her children. While living in George Glenda participated with the Georgettes, famous for the world’s largest cherry pie. 

When the Jenkins family moved to their new home in Lind, Glenda began working as a para-educator at Lind Elementary. January 2019 would have been her 20th anniversary. She was very involved with the school and her students. She helped the community with food drives and baked amazing cakes for the annual cake walk.

Glenda’s passion in life was helping others in any way she could, from volunteering with the Boy Scouts to offering her home through foster care. Though the list of programs and services she was involved in throughout her life is too long to list, she gave every bit of herself to others.

A memorial service will be held Aug. 18, 2018 at Lakeview Missionary Church, 810 S. Evergreen Dr., Moses Lake, Wash. at 11 a.m. In lieu of gifts, please consider a memorial donation to The Wounded Warrior Project. To leave condolences please visit our website at www.danekasfh.com.
