Quincy Irrigation District to end ditchrides Sept. 1

| August 10, 2018 3:00 AM

QUINCY — August means that harvest is upon us, and with that, the end of the irrigation season is nearing across the Columbia Basin.

The Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District announced on Tuesday that Saturday, Sept. 1, will be the last day for changes in water orders and the last day for ditchrides this irrigation season.

The irrigation district will respond to voice mail requests for water deliveries until 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, for Monday deliveries.

There is, however, no scheduled date to end water flow through the district’s canals.
