Kelowna Falcons rout AppleSox in season finale 11-3

KELOWNA, B.C — Hunter Boyd and the Wenatchee AppleSox were hoping for a little better outcome in the season finale with the Kelowna Falcons on Wednesday night at Elks Stadium.

The Moses Lake right-hander gave up 10 hits and 14 runs, 10 of them earned, finishing four innings of work with a 5.24 ERA in the AppleSox 11-3 loss to the Falcons (28-26). Kelowna scored eight runs in the third to blow the game open.

Wenatchee needed to sweep the final series of the regular season to keep their West Coast League postseason hopes alive. They went 1-2 to finish the season 26-28, 15-13 second half.
