Henry Zarate Jr., 58, Warden resident, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for family at www.kayserschapel.com. Henry was born on Aug. 9, 1959 in Moses Lake, Wash. to Henry Zarate Sr. and Lupe “Mitzi” Cruz. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame and listed in the Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Babe Ruth Edition. Henry enjoyed playing baseball, going fishing and hunting, coaching youth baseball and playing the drums. Raised in Moses Lake, Henry joined the Army National Guard in 1976, but he was disappointed when he sustained an injury that led to his honorable discharge. After his brief military career, Henry worked hard to become a journeyman carpenter.

Henry was preceded in death by his father Henry Zarate Sr. and his grandparents, Pedro and Fernanda Zarate, and Toribio and Martha Cruz. Survivors include his mother Mitzi (Pedro Serrano) Cruz; children “My Boy” Blake, “Baby Girl” Jessica and “Princess” Avery; former spouse Alice Turcotte; grandchildren Aryanna and Aiden and sisters, Mary Zarate, Margie Z. (Carlos) Rodriguez and Kathy Zarate.
