Kelowna shells AppleSox 15-1

KELOWNA, B.C. - The AppleSox scored just one run on 10 hits in a 15-1 loss to Kelowna on Tuesday night in West Coast League action. It was a must-win situation for Wenatchee (26-27-0), which was trying to keep its WCL playoff hopes alive. Wenatchee won the series opener on Monday to move to half-a-game out of first place with a 7-4 victory over the Kelowna Falcons on Monday night at Elks Stadium. Thanks to Yakima Valley’s fourth loss in the last five games and the Sox’ fourth consecutive win, Wenatchee is now less than a game out of a playoff spot. But they couldn’t find the same mojo on Tuesday. JT Schwartz was 3-for-4 and scored Wenatchee’s only run. But it it was Kelowna, all night long. The Falcons (27-26) took a seven-run lead in the fifth and broke it open with a four-run seventh. The two clubs wrap up the final game of the regular season on Wednesday, beginning at 6:35 p.m. at Elks Stadium.
