Press Release: Candidate Filing Week begins Monday, May 14, 2018. Candidates filing in person will file at the Grant County Election Department located on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, Room 203 beginning May 14th at 8:00 a.m. and continue through Friday May 18th at 5:00 p.m. A person filing a Declaration of Candidacy for an office shall, at the time of filing, possess the qualifications specified by law for persons who may be elected to the office. The candidate must be properly registered to vote in the district represented by the office at the time of filing. At the time of filing, if the office being filed for has a filing fee, it must be paid at the time of filing in cash or by check. Electronic filing opens Monday, May 14th, 9:00 a.m. and closes Friday May 18th at 4:00 p.m. When filing electronically, the filing fee may be paid by credit card. The acceptance of candidate filings submitted by mail will be accepted by mail beginning 10 business days before the opening of filing week, May 1st. The filings by mail are retained for processing until filing opens for all candidates. Candidates may submit a signed request to withdraw their Declaration of Candidacy before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21st. Filing Fees are non-refundable.
