Manta Ray Aquatics drop time at IMX Dual Pentathlon Meet
MOSES LAKE — Over thirty swimmers from Manta Ray Aquatics competed in their home pool at the IMX Dual Pentathlon Meet over the weekend.
This meet, hosted by the Manta Rays, was a two-day event, where swimmers compete in various challenging events to complete the pentathlon. Nearly every swimmer who attended achieved a best time in one or more event.
Owen Devine posted an 11-second drop in his 100 butterfly and finished second in the pentathlon. Kathryn Duvall placed third in the 11-12 girls pentathlon. Noah Heaps had an impressive 15-second cut in the 200 breaststroke.
Laurel Knox had a best time in all events, including a 12-second drop in the 400 individual medley. She also finished third overall in the pentathlon.
Payton Leeder improved her 200 IM time by ten seconds and went on to achieve a fourth-place finish overall. Alex McLain dropped seven seconds in his 100 butterfly and had an outstanding second-place finish in the pentathlon scoring.
Brothers Dylan and Nicholas Moore both had impressive overall standings, earning third- and first-place medals, respectively. Issac Patten cut nearly 13 seconds from his 200 backstroke time.
Marcus Quezada completed all ten events, cutting ten seconds off his 100 IM time, finishing in an impressive second place overall.
Brittney Richeson and Aline Davis both achieved a 5th place pentathlon finish. Cody Tate earned a fourth-place medal. The team is now headed into the long course summer season.
