Othello Police are on the lookout for Michael Lorenzo Martinez; also known as Michael Lorenzo Castoreno, of Othello, who was a passenger in a two-toned grey Mustang that was involved in a high-speed chase in Othello Sunday evening.

“At approximately 9:20 p.m. officers with the Othello Police Department attempted to stop the Mustang for a traffic violation,” Assistant Police Chief Dave Rehaume said. “The driver of the vehicle, 32 year-old Michael Colley of Othello, failed to stop and continued at a very high rate of speed (up to 120 mph) through town and the surrounding county.”

Rehaume said officers were able to deploy spike strips during the pursuit and successfully deflated two tires on the fleeing Mustang. But Colley continued to drive recklessly through town and into areas of Adams County.

“We continued with the pursuit until the driver came to a stop in an alley in the 300 block between Main and Cedar Street,” Rehaume said. “The passenger fled on foot but the driver remained and was taken into custody and is currently housed in the county jail in Ritzville on charges of attempting to elude police and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.”

Rehaume said the search for Martinez-Castoreno ensued. He is wanted for failure to appear in Adams County Superior Court for intent to deliver a controlled substance- heroin. Rehaume encourages anyone who knows the whereabouts of Michael Lorenzo Martinez (Castroino) to call the OPD.

“If its an emergency dial 9-1-1,” he said. “But if you are safe to do so, call (509) 488-3314. Tips on his location can remain anonymous.”
