Basin roundup: Moses Lake baseball's win streak halted at Wenatchee
WENATCHEE — Moses Lake could not closeout rival Wenatchee, losing 3-1.
Behind a steady performance from starting pitcher Vance Alvarado, Moses Lake took a 1-0 lead into fifth inning. However, Wenatchee was able to tie the score in the bottom of the fifth and scratch out two more runs in the sixth inning.
Dominic Signorelli finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Alvarado scattered seven hits in six innings, striking out seven. Thomas Blakney, Seth Storlie and Jared Rubash drove in one run each for the Panthers.
Moses Lake hosts Wenatchee in a doubleheader on Friday. Game 1 is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Ephrata 5, East Valley 1
EPHRATA — A three-run third inning propelled Ephrata to a crucial win over East Valley 5-1.
Gunnar Falstad pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts. Falstad also added two hits from the plate.
The win crept the Tigers (11-5) a little closer to the Red Devils (13-3) in the CWAC standings.
Prosser 9, Othello 7
PROSSER — Prosser scored eight runs in the sixth inning to stun Othello 9-7.
The Huskies scored the first five runs of the game and led 7-1 in the middle of the sixth.
Camron Valdez had three hits for the Huskies, who now lead the Mustangs by one game for fifth place with a doubleheader left against Selah on Saturday.

Softball
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 10-11, Inchelium 5-1
HARTLINE — Almira/Coulee-Hartline overcame deficits in both games to sweep Inchelium 10-5 and 11-1.
Inchelium led 4-1 in the opener before ACH scored nine out of the next 10 runs. Sarah Bradshaw and Josie Pierce had two RBI each.
Inchelium held a brief 1-0 lead in Game 2 before the Warriors scored the next 11. Bradshaw added two more hits and three RBI.
Liberty Bell 15, Soap Lake 4
SOAP LAKE — Soap Lake went toe-to-toe with Liberty Bell but ultimately fell 15-4.
The Mountain Lions broke a 4-4 tie with five runs in the fourth inning and six runs in the fifth.
Eryn Allen struck out nine batters in five innings.
Boys soccer
Othello 8, Prosser 0
OTHELLO — Othello scored four goals in each half to rout Prosser 8-0
Juan Tapia scored twice. Chris Melo added a penalty kick and Bernie Garza Jr. had a goal.
Othello travels to Ephrata Thursday for a winner-to-districts game.
Wenatchee 5, Moses Lake 0
WENATCHEE — Wenatchee used multiple flurries to beat Moses Lake 5-0.
The Panthers scored twice just before halftime to lead 3-0 at the break. Wenatchee added two more goals on counter attacks in the second half.

Bailee Nickelson and Hailey Sandoval drove in a pair of runs each in Game 1. Sandoval also doubled.
The Vikings managed just three hits in Game 2. Lynsey Valverde was 1-for-1 with an RBI.
