M. Edward Cuda
January 19, 1944 – April 20, 2018
Longtime resident M. Edward Cuda passed away Friday April 20, 2018. He was born in Schuyler, Neb. on Jan. 19, 1944. His Family moved to Vancouver, Wash. when he was 3 years old. He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1962. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy serving on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger.
After discharge he had multiple jobs from working at Cascade Paper Company to selling cars. In 1968 he started his carpentry apprentice program at Clark College.
He met and married Paula Gamble in September 1968. They had two children, Tracy Alan and Amy Lynn.
In 1981 they moved to Moses Lake, where he owned and operated Cuda Construction Company until his death. He was active and involved in youth sports, particularly girls softball. He was given the honor of Grand Marshal of the youth parade in the early 1990s. He was also given a lifetime pass to all high school events for helping build the high school wrestling room.
He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years Paula Cuda; son Tracy Cuda (Erin) and daughter Amy Cuda Rose (Ken); sisters Alice Hokensen, Scotia, N.Y. and Norma Jean Lee, Vancouver Wash.; grandchildren Nathan, Zachary and Matthew Cuda and Kennedy Rose; multiple nieces and nephews and special childhood friend Arlan Hackett, Vancouver, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Madison Ann Rose, parents Ed Cuda and Netti Yabbs and brothers Keith and Charles Cuda.
A man of many names, Ed, Paps, Yetti, Old man, Gramps, Merle but in the end just the best dad, grandpa, father-in-law, brother and friend anyone could have had. Forever you will always be in our hearts.
