Robert M. Kristofferson

January 28, 1934 – April 16, 2018

Robert M. Kristofferson, 84, passed away peacefully at Wenatchee Valley Hospital, in Wenatchee, Wash. on April 16, 2018, surrounded by loving friends. He was predeceased by his only son Robert “Skeeter” Kristofferson and by his wife Ying Mai. Robert is survived by his brothers, Samuel and Carl, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated from Kent High School in 1951 and spent the majority of his career in community service, beginning with his service in the U.S. Air Force, with service in Korea from 1955 to his honorable discharge in 1960.          

Robert loved being around people and made friends easily. His desire to help others often put him in leadership roles. He was well-known and respected for his outstanding and lengthy service to his community, beginning with a career as a policeman for the city of Enumclaw, and ending in his dream job as Director of Public Works for the city of Kent, Wash.

Robert was a proud member of the Masons. He was also very interested in his Norwegian heritage and spent much of his retirement years researching his Nordic ancestry. The other areas of his interests included traveling around the mountains of Eastern Washington searching for gold and precious gems.

There will be military honors and Columbarium inurnment in Tahoma National Cemetery, located at 18600 SE 240th St., in Kent, Wash. planned for a later date.
