Prep roundup: ACH softball rallies in opener, sweeps Inchelium

INCHELIUM — Almira/Coulee-Hartline scored five runs in the seventh inning to complete its comeback against Inchelium, 11-8, in the opener of its doubleheader.

ACH led 5-0 before Inchelium scored seven unanswered runs.

Sarah Bradshaw tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts. Bradshaw helped her own cause with two hits and two RBI.

Kendall Correia and Josie Pierce added two runs batted in apiece.

The Warriors led Game 2 wire-to-wire and won 14-3.

Bradshaw continued her monster day with six RBI on only two hits. Starting pitcher Makenna Oliver scattered four hits over six innings.

Othello 3, Ellensburg 2

OTHELLO — Othello was able to come out on top of a first-half scoring barrage to beat Ellensburg 3-2.

All five goals were scored in the first half amid swirling winds.

Ellensburg opened up a 2-0 lead in the 20th minute after an own goal by Othello. The Huskies made their way back when Jonathan Gutierrez converted on two corner kicks. Gutierrez headed in the first and then cleaned up the second after a scramble in front of Ellensburg’s goal.

Before halftime, Bernie Garza Jr. fed a through ball to Juan Tapia who was tackled from behind inside the penalty box. Tapia converted the penalty kick to put the Huskies ahead for good.

Jayce Moore leads Ephrata at Gamble Sands

BREWSTER — Jayce Moore carded 77 to lead Ephrata at Gamble Sands.

The Tigers totaled 331 as a team. Othello’s Patrick Azevedo, the reigning 2A state champion, shot 74. The Huskies managed 342 as a team.

Everett placed first overall, scoring 294, and King’s standout Grayson Giboney shot 71 for medalist honors.
