Grant Integrated gets donated RV

MOSES LAKE — Grant County Integrated Services now has a brand-new RV to bring counseling and services to the far-flung corners of the county.

At a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Grant County Commissioners, members of the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce and officials with Grant County Integrated Services celebrated the arrival of the new RV, which was donated by Amerigroup, an insurance company that provides Medicaid services in Washington.

“We’re going to be able to provide services in parts of the county we don’t have offices,” said Gail Goodwin, director of management services for Grant Integrated, the county’s mental health provider.

Goodwin said the RV will allow the county to take services out to places where it doesn’t have offices — Royal City, Warden, Hartline, Coulee City, George, and a number of places in between — and help people who don’t have transportation get the help they need.

“If you don’t have transportation, you can’t get to services,” she said. “Our hope is to bring services to where people are.”

“Case management, therapy, it depends on the need,” Goodwin said. “If there’s a need in the community for us to be there, we will be there.”

“For us, it’s more about collaboration with Grant Integrated,” said Craig Smith, the president of Amerigroup of Washington.

“And for us, this is just collaboration with one of our key providers to get access for members who struggle with access in an area like this, a large rural community,” Smith added.

Goodwin said they started planning for this when the offer of a donated RV was first made in November, with a custom interior designed to give people a place to sit and talk.

“This is going to evolve into whatever our community needs,” she said.
