Motorcyclist from Ephrata dies in collision near Quincy

QUINCY — A motorcycle driver from Ephrata died over the weekend after he crashed into a guardrail and was thrown off of his motorcycle.
About 4:40 p.m. on Saturday Kurt Kinzel, 65, of Ephrata, was driving a 2012 Harley Davidson east on state Route 28, about seven miles west of Quincy, when he reportedly crossed the centerline and went into the westbound SR-28 lane. The Harley struck a guardrail and Kinzel was ejected from the motorcycle, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Kinzel died at the scene of the collision. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the patrol. Kinzel was reportedly wearing a U.S. Department of Transportation-approved helmet and initial evidence suggests neither drugs nor alcohol was involved in the collision.
