QUINCY — The Wahluke Warriors turned in a spectacular day at the annual Best in the Basin track meet in Quincy March 29 as several athletes set personal best.

Mirna Gallaga threw a personal best of 92 feet to finish second in the javelin competition. Martin Vargas set a PR in the 300m hurdles placing third with a time of with a 45.36 seconds. Isaac Sanchez recorded personal bests in the 200m (24.62) and pole vault clearing 9’ 6”. Oscar Rodriguez had a big throw of 137 feet to set a PR in the javelin.

“Oscar is putting in practice and his work is paying off,” coach Joel Dugan said. “So many of our athletes set PRs that we had to print more personal record cards that we hand out the next day at practice. Our athletes are working hard ever day and buying into our Moto We W.I.L.L. — Willing to invest in a Lasting Legacy.”
