Prep roundup: Othello bats stymied on the road by Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG — Othello was swept on the road by CWAC co-leader Ellensburg, 10-0 and 10-3.

Ellensburg starter Brady Helgeson limited Othello to one hit in Game 1. Helgeson totaled seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

The Bulldogs raced to a 10-0 lead with four runs in the first inning and six runs in the third inning. Jadon Bugni hit a two-run double in the first inning.

The Huskies scored one run each in the third, fourth and fifth inning, trailing 4-3 after five complete innings in Game 2. However, Ellensburg broke the game open with six runs in the sixth inning.

Jaxon Rocha and Jay Rodriguez drove in one run each for Othello. Starting pitcher Jonathan Garza lasted five innings, striking out five.
