Dwight D. Saunders

Dwight D. Saunders, 84, of Naples, Fla. passed on April 3, 2018. Born in Wilson Creek, Wash., he was the son of Louise Wegener and Delbert Saunders.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Patricia Joy (Oliver) Saunders. They are survived by their daughter Catherine Jean Saunders Nadeau, and were the proud grandparents of Bailey C. Nadeau (father, Dwight Nadeau). Mr. Saunders was also predeceased by his brother Dwayne D. Saunders, and is survived by adoring nieces and nephews Patty, Linda and Rodney.

Dwight was a member of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War as a communications specialist. He worked at Clear Air Force Station in Alaska, as well as at the Fairbanks International Airport in crash, fire and rescue, retiring as Chief in 1990.

Services and reception will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, 4 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, Fla., followed by dinner and remembrance at Erin’s Isle Restaurant.
