Road work next week on Broadway
MOSES LAKE — Drivers in the vicinity of Broadway Avenue and Gumwood Street can expect some revisions in traffic this week as construction crews work on water lines.
“Most of (this) week there will be traffic impacts on Broadway,” said city engineer Richard Law, but traffic won’t be stopped. Broadway will have cones and other “channeling devices” to keep traffic out of the way of the construction.
Total project cost is $119,100.51, Law said. The crews will be installing an eight-inch water line, tapping into an existing line on Third Street. The new lines improve water flow for fighting fires, Law said, and the project will make it easier to provide new service in that area.
Some lines are being moved to conform to existing state law, he said.
The project is projected to take three to four weeks total. Construction will move to Gumwood once the section on Broadway is completed. Traffic on Gumwood will be subject to detours during that phase of the project.
