MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Coyotes 12u Rep A2 team got the season underway with two games against the Spokane Jr. Chiefs 12u Rep A2.

The first game went in favor of the Coyotes 6-3. Spokane and Moses Lake skated to a 7-7 tie in the second game.

Moses Lake head coach Ryan Deery said he was pleased with his team’s effort in the first games of the season.

“We moved the puck well in the neutral zone, allowing us to enter the offensive zone with speed, generating goals,” Deery said. “All five skaters on the ice at any given time contributed.”

The Coyotes are packed with speed on all three forward lines and defensive pairs. Goaltender Wyatt Horst held the line in goal for the Coyotes.

“Wyatt is our only goaltender on the team this year. He has to carry a heavy load and he is handling the responsibility very well,” Deery said. “We will work some on positioning in practice this week. We were scrambling a little at times. We want fast, full speed practices, and bring that speed to the games.”
