MOSES LAKE — Once again, local artists, vintners, brewers and more will converge in Moses Lake Oct. 7 for the annual Art & Wine Walk. The event sprawls across downtown and runs from 1 to 5 p.m.

Here’s how it works: participants start out at the registration table at Michael’s Bistro to collect their wine glass and map. Then they make the rounds of participating businesses, sampling wines and checking out art and other merchandise. Raffle prizes will also be given away during the event.

Local wineries will be featured and local breweries Ten Pin Brewery and St. Brigid’s Brewery will be pouring as well, according to a press release from the Moses Lake Business Association, which sponsors the event. A new addition to the beverage selection this year will be Whiskey Gap Distillery of Ritzville.

The art comes from local artists and will be on display at Michael’s Bistro, Body Benefitz, Sue’s Gift Boutique, Second Time Silver, Red Door Café, Miller’s Fine Jewelers, Settler’s Country Market, Eden Salon, Artgarden Pottery, Tyke’s 2 Kid’s and the Smith Martin Building. In addition, this year’s event will feature a student artwork display in the Youth Dynamics building showcasing work from Moses Lake High School and CB Tech students.

“We’re so excited to bring an event like this to downtown; it has been a huge success in past years,” MLBA director Michaelle Boetger said in the release. “There are so many artists, wineries and breweries in Grant County, we love being able to bring them all together and downtown is the perfect place to do it. Even if you don’t participate in the wine tasting you can enjoy the artwork on display as well as the downtown shopping, it’s never too early to get a start on holiday shopping.”

To participate in the wine tasting portion of the event, presale tickets are available now at Artgarden Pottery downtown until Oct. 6 or online at www.mlbacares.org. Tickets are $25 per person or $45 per couple in advance, or $30 per person and $50 per couple on the day of the event. Tickets include a logoed glass, a bag, map and tastings at 10 different business locations, plus the chance to win raffle prizes from all locations throughout the day.

Sponsors for the event include Michaelle Boetger Graphic Designs and the UPS Store, but more sponsors are needed, Boetger said. Information can be had by calling 509-770-1700 or online at www.mlbacares.org/support.
