Prep roundup: Moses Lake sets slew of district qualifying times against Eastmont

EAST WENATCHEE — A strong freshman class for Eastmont allowed the Wildcats to beat Moses Lake 117-69.

Anna Fair won the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly. Jessica Williams won the 100 breaststroke and also qualified for the district meet in the 200 individual medley.

Bethany Bateman, one of three Chiefs in the top five, won the diving; Jessica Mendoza was third.

Lacy Johnson qualified for the district meet in the 50 and 100 freestyle.

In the distance races, Brittney Richeson clocked district qualifying times in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Reagan Ewing also made districts in the 200 and 500 freestyle.

Girls soccer

Hanford 2, Moses Lake 1 (SO)

RICHLAND — Moses Lake nearly pulled off an upset of 2016 state semifinalist Hanford.

The Chiefs held a 1-0 lead before Erica Seiler scored for the Falcons in the 68th minute. Hanford won the shootout 6-5 and took the game 2-1.

Morgan Skone assisted on Emily Mendoza’s goal in the first half.

Volleyball

Othello 3, Toppenish 0

OTHELLO — Alyssa Hawley and Daishawn Roylance had eight kills each and Othello swept Toppenish 25-8, 25-18, 25-23.

Macy Hampton added 21 assists and Clarissa Martinez added 18 digs.

Eryn Ewing had an all-around game of three kills, one block and 12 digs.

Quincy 3, Wapato 1

QUINCY — Junior captain Morgan Kleyn had an exception tonight and Quincy beat Wapato in four sets 25-14, 25-17, 25-27, 25-19.

Kleyn totaled 18 kills.

Kelly Mills had 10 aces and 36 digs.

Ferris 3, Moses Lake 0

SPOKANE — Moses Lake was swept on the road by Ferris 25-11, 25-14, 25-12.
