MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Business Association (MLBA) recently announcing the hiring of Michaelle Boetger as its new executive director.

Boetger, who has lived in Moses Lake since 2007 and been involved with the MLBA for many years, previously served on the MLBA board as secretary and oversees MLBA marketing materials. Boetger also runs two of her own businesses, one with her husband.

“MLBA is going through a transition right now and I’m happy to step up and be a part of it. We are a community organization and I look forward to working with other community organizations to develop our downtown core as well as grow our community and promote everything it has to offer,” Boetger stated.

Boetger said the MLBA will be focusing on its Main Street Community designation, which is an approach to downtown commercial district revitalization. Main Street communities qualify to receive B&O (business and occupation) tax dollars through the Main Street Tax Credit Incentive. Moses Lake has the ability to receive up to $133,333.33 through the incentive.

She said a city can designate any amount of its B&O taxes and get a 75 percent tax credit, which can be used for the organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring of activities in the city.
