Royal Thunder soccer gets comeback win over Wenatchee

WENATCHEE — The Royal Thunder pulled out a 5-3 shootout win over Aguilitas Wenatchee to claim the league championship at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee Aug. 19.

Aguilitas took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. Anderson Brown off an assist from Jace Cuevas leveled the match to send it to overtime. Neither team scored in the extra period and the match went to a shootout.

The Thunder out shot Aguilitas 4-3 on goals from Ernesto Deras, Daniel Soriano, Alejandro and Jace Cuevas to claim the title.

The Thunder finished 12-3-1 in a league comprised of teams from Othello, Quincy, Wenatchee, Brewster and Ellensburg.
