January 3, 1943 – October 8, 2017

Rose Marie Cook, 74, of Moses Lake, Wash. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 8 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Wash.

Rose Marie was born on Jan. 3, 1943 in St. Clairsville (Belmont County), Ohio to the late Paul and Helen McCort. She moved to Cascade Valley in Moses Lake, Wash. in 1957 and graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1961. For 50 years she was married to Raymond Cook, the love of her life.

Rose Marie was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. She never met a stranger, and she treated each of her friends and family members as if they were the most important person in the room. This showed most during holidays when her home was the gathering place to enjoy her cooking, baking, and hospitality.

She worked at A&W, Sundstrand Data Control, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Espresso Break, The Chocolate Factory, Big Bend Community College, Accounting and Tax Services and even had her own bakery, Rose’s Down Home Baking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Pat, Mike, and Danny.

She is survived by her youngest brother Sean (partner Sandy); her three children Sherrie (husband Ric), Deanna (husband Tony) and Paul (wife Amanda); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. She was very fortunate to have a lifelong core group of friends who were a complete blessing to her and her family.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 16 at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Moses Lake. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., service at 10 a.m. and luncheon to follow at the CCD Center.
