From the Moses Lake Herald on Aug. 14, 1941:
Dennis note: Was wondering how and when there would be a chance for me to vent frustrations with some drivers. Why would a driver cut back into the right lane in such a short distance as to almost hit my left-front fender, with no vehicle behind it? Dangerous situation for sure.
Speeders don’t bother me so much. My vehicle travels at 51 or 52 on Highway 17 and on I-90 the usual speed is 71 or 72. But my, my, there are vehicles passing me as if my speed was 40. The speeders will get what’s coming to them. Just trust they will not involve others when their speed causes an accident.

Road hog pet peeve
Poll of sentiment among motorists at a recent eastern automobile show placed the “road hog” at the top of the list among the pet aversions of drivers. 30 percent of the answers named the “road Hog” with 23 percent naming the “drivers who cut in.” Other annoyances included careless pedestrians, no place to park, failure to signal and failure to dim headlights.
Frenchman Hill news
-Mrs. Bart Yogan, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harris and son, David, were Ellensburg visitors on Tuesday.
-E.J. Barnes of Lind was out to his ranch on Frenchman Hill, Friday.
-Bart Yogan was in Yakima on Saturday to consult an oculist.
-W.G. Harris, Susan and Jesse Harris, enjoyed a camping and fishing trip to Moses Lake over the weekend. They caught a fine string of bass, the largest weighing four pounds.
-Mrs. Lillian Harris, Mrs. Dorothy Yogan and Susan Harris attended the S. and C. Woman’s Club at Mrs. Gilbert Morgan’s home, Smyrna, Washington on Wednesday.
-Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harris and son, David, were Ellensburg visitors Saturday.
-Ed Robbins took a load of hogs to Seattle last Monday.
-Mr. and Mrs. Bart Yogan were business callers at Moses Lake Sunday.
-Lou Hertzel (or Herizel), Charles Robbins and son were visiting Grandad Robbins last Tuesday.
