YAKIMA — Future Farmers of America is designed to help the next generation meet the challenges in a changing world and the Othello FFA showcased its talent in a big way in placing first in the Livestock Judging Class 6 at the Central Washington State Fair.

“I’m so proud of our Othello FFA judging teams at the Central Washington State Fair,” advisor Joe Silva said. “There were 300 students and 61 high schools represented. All the members of our teams really made Othello FFA shine.”

Alyson Shade placed second in individual dairy judging, stepping up in a division that had over 300 participants to win an individual plaque. Sarah Wilson placed eighth in horse judging.

Team members include: Alyson Shade, Sarah Wilson, Avery Field, Kobly Snyder, Anthony Prado, Genisis Sernaro, Logan Hollenbeck, Juan Garza and Rojlio Cortez.

They might be called future farmers, but in reality they are future biologists, future chemists, future veterinarians, future engineers and future entrepreneurs of America.

FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of agricultural career direction.

The National FFA Organization is committed to the individual student, providing a path to achievement in premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
