Firefighters partnering with Red Cross to raise funds for fire victims

| October 5, 2017 3:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Firefighters Local (MLFL) 2052 is asking for public help to raise funds for people and communities that were impacted by wildfires over the summer.

Having had crews involved in firefighting operations, the MLFL knows how devastating a fire can truly be to a family and/or community. From lost homes, to burned crops, the devastation this summer’s wildfires wreaked was vast and multifaceted.

To help families and communities rebuild, the MLFL is working with the Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross to raise funds for those who are in need. The MLFL says the biggest current need is monetary donations, but the Red Cross is also accepting physical donations, such as bottled water and clothing. Physical donations can be dropped off at Moses Lake Fire Station No. 1, 701 E. Third Ave., or by contacting 509-765-2204.

To make a monetary donation, or for a list of needed physical donation items, contact the Apple Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross at 509-663-3907.
