Character issues plague Pack's past

| October 5, 2017 3:00 AM

I’m writing because of my concern about one individual seeking a position on the Moses Lake City Council in position number 5. The candidate is Nathan Pack, who has a long history with the Washington State Court Records. Mr. Pack has difficulty following the law when driving a vehicle.

This morning (Tuesday, Oct. 3) I spoke with Mr. Pack by phone. He confirmed that last year in November 2016 he was convicted on a DUI violation and served some jail time. Mr. Pack also confirmed that he does not currently have a valid driver’s license.

I would refer the reader to the CBH editorial of Aug. 11, 2016 entitled “Pack’s DUI diminishes his fitness to serve.”

As a longtime resident of Moses Lake, I am looking for a council person who is a proven leader with good strong character. This individual must have the ability to address the needs of our growing community with integrity, sincerity, as well as following enacted laws of our city and state. In this respect, Mr. Pack does not meet the basic qualifications for a Moses Lake City Council position.
