Prep roundup: Balance leads Warden to win over College Place

COLLEGE PLACE — Warden had four different goal-scorers in a 5-0 win at College Place.

Aubree Skone scored twice in addition to one goal apiece from Aaliyah Escamilla, Kassandra Rodriguez and Grace Richins.

“I was really proud of the girls,” assistant coach Rachel Mohs said. “Many of my players got into positions they have never played in and stepped up to the challenge.”

Warden led 2-0 after five minutes.

Richins found Skone for a goal in the first minute; Skone assisted on Escamilla’s goal in the fourth minute.

First half — 1, W, Skone (Richins), 1:00. 2, W, Escamilla (Skone), 4:00. 3, W, Rodriguez (Kennedy Kilmer), 30:00.

Second half — 4, W, Richins (Skone), 48:00. 5, W, Skone, 79:00.

Grandview 1, Othello 0

GRANDVIEW — Grandview scored in the 35th minute and blanked Othello 1-0.

The Huskies dealt with a multitude of injuries, playing with seven starters out.

East Valley 9, Quincy 1

QUINCY — East Valley scored five goals in an eight-minute stretch in the first half and beat Quincy 9-1.

Brianna Pendragon put a direct kick into the upper left-hand corner of the net for the Jacks’ lone goal.

Pendragon made the score 3-1.

The Red Devils closed the first half with five straight goals.

Taylor Plata had a hat trick.

Royal 4, Goldendale 0

ROYAL CITY — Royal held Goldendale to zero shots and won 4-0.

The Knights had four different goal scores.

Danielle Lima and Noelia Juarez had one goal each in the first half. Amy Sandoval scored in the 62nd minute and Lindsey Carrasco notched the final goal in the 80th.

Moses Lake 3, Sunnyside 0

SUNNYSIDE — Yasmin Shateri totaled 10 kills and Moses Lake swept Sunnyside 25-22, 25-16, 25-15.

Shateri was aided in the attack by Gabi Rios’ nine kills.

Rios and Krista Hutsell added three aces each.

Selah 3, Quincy 0

QUINCY — Quincy could not overcome its errors in a loss to Selah 25-14, 25-11, 25-20.

Morgan Kleyn led the Jacks with four kills. Rosey Combs had three aces.

Tonasket 3, Soap Lake 1

TONASKET — Soap Lake won the first set, but lost to Tonasket in four 17-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-13.

Taylor Harvill notched six kills and three blocks. Tracie Delgado and Juliana Hernandez recorded four kills each.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 0

COULEE CITY — Almira/Coulee-Hartline dispatched Lind-Ritzville/Sprague in three sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.
