Grand Coulee man injured when ejected from truck
ELECTRIC CITY — A Grand Coulee man was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected out of his truck in a collision in Electric City on Friday.
About 7:30 p.m. Christopher Coffey, 32, of Grand Coulee, was driving a 2000 Toyota Tundra south on state Route 155, in Electric City, when he reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a light pole. The vehicle went over a median, struck a chain link fence and went over an embankment, coming to a rest 200 feet below. Coffey was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected out of the Tundra and came to a rest 25 yards from the truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Coffey was seriously injured and airlifted from the scene to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for treatment. The collision is under investigation.
