Basin roundup: Big Bend swept by Spokane

SPOKANE — Madison Powers notched a team-high six kills, but Big Bend fell on the road to Spokane 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.

Laurissa Kisler and Savannah Bass added 10 digs and 10 assists, respectively.

Calista Clark led Spokane with 13 kills. Ryley Siclair had 10 kills for Spokane.

Prep volleyball

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Curlew 0

CURLEW — Almira/Coulee-Hartline improved to 7-0, beating Curlew 25-9, 25-8, 25-9.

Maddie Murray had a match-high eight kills and Christa Christopherson had 16 assists.

Gabi Isaak recorded six service aces.

Cross country

Moses Lake boys first in Division 3 race

PORTLAND — Moses Lake boys cross country totaled 189 points and finished first in the Division 3 race at the Nike Portland XC meet.

Zachery Owens and Joshua Cooper clocked in at 16:43.5 and 16:46.4, respectively.

In the girls’ competition, Moses Lake was 10th in the Division 3 race with 327 points. Patrick Henry took first in the team standings with 127 points.

Carlie Gregg took sixth place in 20 minutes, 15.7 seconds.
